Hurdwick Lodge

Hurdwick Lodge sits on private parkland on the outskirts of Tavistock, with Dartmoor National Park to the east and the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the west. The property sleeps 10 across five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with off-road parking for four cars.

The lodge itself holds four bedrooms: a king-size suite with a dressing room and en-suite bathroom, a ground-floor king-size room and a ground-floor double, each with an en-suite shower, and a twin room served by a ground-floor shower room. A detached annex a couple of metres from the lodge adds a fifth bedroom, a king-size room that converts to a twin, with its own shower room and a games room below; the annex has no WiFi.

The open-plan living space has a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with dual-aspect windows and a Smart TV, and the kitchen is fitted with an electric double oven, grill, induction hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A utility room has a washing machine and a separate freezer, and the games room has a pool table that converts to table tennis.

The garden has a lawn, gravelled area and furniture, plus access to the adjoining barn gardens, and there's a small enclosed area for exercising dogs. Dogs are welcome (confirm how many when booking); as the property sits on a working farm they must stay on a lead at all times and mess must be picked up. There's an unfenced pond on the parkland, so children need supervising, and livestock graze in the surrounding fields. The property is no smoking, and short breaks require a minimum stay of three nights.
