Keepers Cottage

Keepers Cottage sits on the east side of Brixham town centre, a short downhill walk from the marina and the gardens at Furzeham Green. The coastal path runs close by, giving access to walks around the bay and to Fishcombe Cove, one of the quieter beaches nearby. Brixham itself is a working fishing town built on a steep hill, and access to some streets and cottages here involves steps, some of them fairly steep.

The open-plan lounge and diner opens straight from the front door and looks out over the harbour, with a sofa that converts to two single beds and a television for evenings in. Two steps lead up to the kitchen at the rear, fitted with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and washing machine, so self-catering is straightforward for a short break or longer stay.

Sleeping four across two bedrooms, the cottage has a twin room on the first floor with a single bed and a trundle bed for a fourth guest, along with its own den area behind a curtain that has a television and games console. The single shower room, with a walk-in shower and WC, is also on this floor. The king-size master bedroom occupies the second floor, reached via the twin room rather than a separate staircase, and has sea views along with a door out to a decked seating area.

Outside, a front terrace with table and chairs looks over the comings and goings of the harbour, and the second-floor bedroom opens onto its own decked patio. Wi-Fi is included throughout, along with bed linen and towels. Parking is not available at the property itself but can be found in Brixham's local car parks, and the layout with the master bedroom accessed through the twin room is worth noting when booking for two separate parties.
