Holly Cottage

Holly Cottage is a former fisherman's cottage close to Brixham town centre, a short walk from the harbour. A number of external steps lead up to the front door, which opens directly into a cosy lounge with a wood-burner, comfortable seating and a Smart TV.

Beyond the lounge, past the stairs, a kitchen/diner seats four and includes an oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, counter freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Wooden stairs lead to a first-floor double bedroom with a built-in wardrobe, and the bathroom, which has a corner bath, separate shower cubicle and WC. Steep, winding cottage-style stairs then lead to a second-floor twin bedroom set in the eaves, with reduced head-height and rooftop views; these stairs are unsuitable for children under five.

Outside, a small enclosed courtyard garden connects via steep steps to an elevated shingle sun terrace with table and bench seating and a charcoal barbecue. The terrace's high level and steep stairs also make it unsuitable for under-fives. Beaches, shops and pubs are within walking distance, though Brixham sits on a steep hill and many streets are unsuitable for cars, so this cottage does not have private parking; alternative parking is available in local car parks.

Holly Cottage sleeps four across its two bedrooms, with Wi-Fi, electric and heating, bed linen and towels all included. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Given the internal and external stairs and lack of a stairlift-friendly layout, this cottage suits couples or families with older children rather than those needing easy-access accommodation.
