High View Farmhouse

High View Farmhouse sits on working farmland outside Ilfracombe, reached by a footpath into the town. Parts of the building predate the Domesday Book and the layout reflects that history, spread across three levels linked by interior steps rather than a single continuous staircase.

The top floor holds the main entrance and living space: a vaulted, oak-beamed kitchen with slate flooring, a large dining room opening through bi-fold doors onto a furnished patio, and a separate sitting room with a wood burner. Two bedrooms sit on this level, a king-size with en-suite shower and a twin room. The master bedroom on the middle floor is reached via its own staircase and has a spiral stair leading down to the indoor swimming pool and hot tub. A book-lined corridor connects to two further bedrooms and a snug. The lower floor houses a games room with a billiard table and a selection of toys, plus further access to the pool.

Six bedrooms sleep up to 12 guests: an Emperor, two king-sizes and three twins. Of the three bathrooms, one has a bath with a separate shower and WC, two are en-suite shower rooms, and there is an additional separate WC, plus a utility room with its own WC and washing machine. The kitchen includes an oil Rayburn, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and American-style fridge freezer, and a first basket of logs is supplied for the wood burner.

The large garden has a children's climbing frame and a BBQ, with a separate rough area suitable for dogs; up to six are permitted, kept on leads within the grounds because of grazing farm animals nearby. Private parking is provided on site, with electric car charging payable in advance at £40 per car. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for families, and internet access is provided.
