Hairpin Cottage

Hairpin Cottage sits at the end of a quiet road overlooking the inner harbour in Brixham, a fishing town on the English Riviera. The setting is secluded despite being within walking distance of the town's shops, pubs and restaurants, many of which serve seafood landed by local boats.

The ground-floor lounge has a large picture window with views across the harbour, a TV, and a wood burner (guests provide their own logs). A separate dining room seats all six guests and connects to a contemporary kitchen fitted with a gas range oven, hob, microwave, American-style fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A utility area off the kitchen holds a washing machine, tumble dryer and additional sink.

Sleeping six across three bedrooms, the layout has a king-size and a twin room on the first floor, both served by a shower room with WC. The double bedroom occupies the second floor within the eaves, so head-height is reduced here; this floor also has its own shower room with WC and a separate reading room with a kitchenette. Outside, a patio garden to the side of the property is enclosed and furnished, making the most of the views over the harbour bowl.

Wi-Fi is included, and towels are provided. The stairs throughout are steep and cottage-style, so the property is not suited to those with mobility issues, and children need supervision on them. Brixham's streets are narrow and steep in places, and this cottage does not have private parking, though local car parks offer an alternative. Two dogs are welcome for an additional charge, though they are not permitted on beds or furniture. Arrival is from 17:00 and departure before 10:00.
