Grooms Cottage

Grooms Cottage occupies one of the former stables beside Talaton House, a Grade II listed former rectory near Talaton, under a mile from a pub. The open-plan living space has a high ceiling and glazed doors on two sides leading out to a gravelled terrace.

A ground-floor king-size double bedroom has its own ceiling-high glazed door, and an oak staircase climbs to a mezzanine with a single day bed overlooking the living area below. Both sleeping areas share a ground-floor wet room with shower, basin and WC, and the cottage sleeps 3 in total. Children under 12 are not accepted because of the mezzanine.

The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and the living area has a TV with Blu-ray and DVD player and WiFi. Electric panel heaters cover the cottage, with fuel and power included in the rent.

The gravelled terrace at the front has a table and seating, screened with planting and pleached trees. Guests can also use the shared lower lawns around Talaton House, with picnic benches, a barbecue area and a circular woodland walk; dogs are welcome on leads here.

Off-road parking for two cars is in a shared parking area a short walk from the cottage, with loading and unloading outside the door. Two well-behaved small dogs are welcome, with a fee for the second dog. Smoking is not permitted, stays are capped at 14 nights unless arranged in advance, and bookings are for leisure and holiday purposes only.
