Fullers Retreat

Fullers Retreat sits at the top of a farm lane in Umberleigh, near Barnstaple, sleeping two adults in a first-floor king-size bedroom with a high apex ceiling and floor-to-ceiling French doors that open onto a private balcony with countryside views. A wrought-iron spiral staircase connects the balcony directly to the enclosed garden below. On the ground floor, a shower room with a spacious enclosure sits alongside a separate WC.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area benefits from underfloor heating, a breakfast bar with stools, a Smart TV, and a well-fitted kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washer-dryer. A second Smart TV is in the bedroom. Up to two medium-sized dogs are welcome, subject to the property rules, and a supervised off-lead paddock is available on site along with an outside tap, hose and dog bin.

Outside, the enclosed private patio and lawn has garden furniture and a BBQ. The private hot tub is a particular draw; note that due to water changes it may only reach full temperature later in the evening of arrival day. Off-road parking is provided for one car alongside an electric vehicle charging point, with additional parking available on request.

From the farm you can walk directly across the fields and along the River Taw to the Rising Sun pub, roughly a mile away, or take the quiet lanes to The Bell Inn at Chittlehampton, about 1.5 miles. Barnstaple is 9 miles and South Molton 7 miles, both with pannier markets. A nearby station gives access to the Tarka Trail for walkers and cyclists.
