Ferndale

Ferndale is a single-level stone cottage in an elevated position near Lynton, overlooking the treetops of the neighbouring valley towards the River Lyn. An off-road parking space leads along a short path to a seating area at the front of the cottage, and inside the open-plan living space has high ceilings and slate flooring.

The kitchen was built specifically for the cottage and has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, with a dining table for two. The bedroom has a super-king-size, zip-linked bed that can be split into a twin on request, and the shower room has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

Outside, the patio has furniture for sitting out and taking in the countryside views. Oil-fired central heating covers the cottage, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. The shop is around 0.5 miles away, the pub 0.2 miles and the beach 1.1 miles.

Ferndale does not accept pets, and smoking is not permitted. Lynton's galleries, the Lyn and Exmoor Museum, and the South West Coast Path towards the Valley of Rocks are all within walking distance, and the water-powered funicular railway down to neighbouring Lynmouth is close by, alongside the shingle seafront at Blacklands Beach.
