Coach House Cottage

Coach House Cottage is a Grade II listed conversion of a 19th-century coach house, half a mile from the centre of Strete and set above the coast road between Slapton and Dartmouth. The cottage sleeps 3 across two bedrooms and one bathroom, and does not accept children under the age of eight.

Upstairs, the open-plan living space has a wood-burning stove and views to Start Point and the River Dart estuary, with a curving kitchen area alongside. The staircase up to this floor is narrow with a curve at the top, worth noting for anyone unsteady on stairs. The two individually designed bedrooms, a double and a single, are on the ground floor, sharing a bathroom with a bath and separate shower.

The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and central heating runs alongside underfloor heating and the wood-burning stove. A Smart TV, WiFi and a phone for incoming calls only round out the living space, with fuel and power included in the rent. Outside, an enclosed garden has the same views, with a lawn and a patio for outdoor meals.

Off-road parking is provided for one car. Coach House Cottage does not accept pets and is no smoking throughout. Strete has a restaurant a short stroll away, and Dartmouth offers a further choice of places to eat, a cinema and trips on the steam railway.
