Cattle Barn Cottage

Cattle Barn Cottage sits in the Blackdown Hills National Landscape near Beacon, a hamlet close to Honiton in Mid and East Devon. The converted barn dates back over 400 years and retains exposed beams, cob walls and a wood burner in the lounge, with logs included. A well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and microwave leads through to an oak dining table, and a downstairs shower room with WC and washing machine completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, three bedrooms sleep up to six guests: one king-size room and two twin rooms, one of which can be reconfigured into a king-size on request. A family bathroom with shower over bath serves the upper floor. The cottage suits families with young children well, as travel cots, a wooden cot, toddler beds, highchairs, a baby bouncer, sterilisers, a monitor, blackout blinds, a potty and changing mats are all available on site.

Shared facilities across the three-acre grounds are a genuine draw. The indoor swimming pool and the outdoor sauna hut are each available to book out privately. A games room holds a pool table and board games, while a thatched play barn covers table tennis and football. Younger children have an indoor play area, a covered ride-on tractor zone, a wooden fort, playhouse, swings and a trampoline. A BBQ hut, croquet and putting lawn, boules, giant chess and a football area with goal posts round out the outdoor options, and on-site animal feeding is available.

Private off-road parking for two cars is provided, and a shared EV charger is available on site. The nearest pub and shop are four miles away and the closest beach is approximately 14 miles. No dogs are permitted. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00.
