Bydown Lodge

Bydown Lodge is a single-storey property near Swimbridge, close to Barnstaple, designed for couples. The open-plan interior centres on a hand-built oak kitchen with electric oven and hob, a vintage-style Smeg fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, alongside a lounge and dining area furnished with a Harris tweed sofa and a repurposed workbench table. Bi-fold doors open the living space onto the decking beyond, making the most of the countryside setting.

The single bedroom is fitted with a king-size bed and leads into an en-suite bathroom featuring a freestanding copper bath with shower over, a reclaimed vintage sink and a WC. A Smart TV is provided in the lounge, and a travel cot and highchair are available for visiting little ones, though the accommodation itself is best suited to two adults.

Outside, the enclosed and private decked area comes with garden furniture, including deck chairs for al fresco dining, and a private cedar hot tub. Vintage hooks are fitted nearby for towels or dressing gowns. Off-road parking is allocated for one car on the driveway, with further roadside parking available outside the property.

One dog is welcome to stay, with additional charges that may apply. Internet access is provided, and check-in runs from 16:30 with departure required by 10:00. The nearest pub is close by, with shops a short drive away, making this a practical base for a quiet countryside break.
