Burscombe Farm

This farm cottage sits within a working dairy farm near Sidbury, a few miles inland from Sidmouth. It sleeps four across two upstairs bedrooms, a double with its own hand basin and a twin room, served by a single family bathroom with a shower over the bath. A porch at the entrance is useful for storing wellies, flip-flops and beach towels after a day out.

Downstairs, the kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine and dishwasher, making it straightforward to prepare meals without going out. The adjoining lounge has a dining table, a Smart TV with DVD player and Sky TV for evenings in after a day of exploring the surrounding countryside.

Outside, guests have an enclosed garden to the rear with furniture for outdoor dining and a barbecue, plus one bag of charcoal provided. There is also shared use of a lawn area to the side of the property, suitable for games or relaxing. As this is a working farm, children under 16 must be accompanied around the buildings and animals at all times, and those who wish can watch milking or help feed the calves during their stay.

Wi-Fi and ample off-road parking are included, and a stairgate is available on request for families with young children. One dog is welcome, provided it stays on a lead around the farm and fields, and additional charges may apply. The nearest beach is around three miles away, with a shop and pub within roughly a mile of the cottage. Arrival is from 14:30 and departure before 10:00.
