Sweetcombe Barn

This converted barn sits in a hillside setting in private grounds near Sidbury, with countryside footpaths reaching out from the door. It sleeps two guests and welcomes up to three well-behaved dogs, though babes in arms cannot be accommodated.

The open-plan ground floor combines a kitchen with oak floorboards, exposed beams and a long dining table with a lounge area where a wood burner sits against exposed brickwork and a first basket of logs is included. French doors lead out to an elevated decked terrace with seating and views over the valley and woodland. A wet room with WC is also on the ground floor, while the sole bedroom occupies a mezzanine level under a reduced-height, oak-beamed ceiling and is reached via a steep staircase, so may not suit those unsteady on stairs.

The kitchen has a gas oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, a Belfast sink and a dishwasher. A shared utility room in an external outbuilding houses the washing machine and shared freezer space. Starlink Wi-Fi runs throughout the barn, and there is parking for two cars on site.

Beyond the terrace, steps lead down to an enclosed lawn where dogs and younger guests can spend time outdoors. Guests bringing dogs should pack their own towels, as none are provided for pets. The nearest shop and pub are around 1.5 miles away, with the beach roughly five miles from the property.
