Bedford Cottage

Bedford Cottage is a recent addition to the village of Bere Alston, between the rivers Tavy and Tamar. A woodburning stove anchors the sitting room, and street parking outside makes arriving straightforward. It's a base suited to families, friends or couples wanting easy access to countryside and nearby towns.

The kitchen/diner is fitted with a combi air-fryer oven, an induction hob, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine, with a dining space for gathering over meals. Two double bedrooms sit alongside a ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, and WiFi covers the whole cottage.

Heating comes from night storage heaters backed up by the woodburning stove, with fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels. Outside, the enclosed rear garden combines lawn and patio space with furniture, though the steps down into it are uneven, so it's worth taking care.

Bedford Cottage takes one well-behaved dog, and smoking isn't allowed. A shop and a pub are both a short walk away. Further afield, Tavistock's pannier market, independent shops and abbey are worth a visit, and Dartmoor National Park offers tors, walking routes and wildlife-rich landscapes for a day out from the village.
