Barn At East Hele

This two-bedroom barn in Kings Nympton combines ground-floor sleeping accommodation with a first-floor living space reached via an external flight of steps. A ground-floor entrance hall provides space to leave coats and boots, plus a utility cupboard housing a washer-dryer. The two bedrooms sit on this floor: one has a super-king zip-and-link bed that can be made up as twins on request, the other a super-king bed. Both rooms have Smart TVs and private en-suite shower rooms with WCs.

The first-floor open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area is well equipped for a self-catering stay. The kitchen provides an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and double wine cooler. Leather sofas and a galleried area overlooking the entrance hall below give the lounge a relaxed feel, and a wood burner with an unlimited log supply keeps things warm. A dining table doubles as a spot for card games or planning the next day out.

Outside, a fully enclosed private garden with a patio and barbecue provides secure outdoor space for up to two dogs. A mature orchard lies directly alongside, accessible from the garden via a few steps. Off-road parking is ample, and the village of Umberleigh is 1 mile away with a pub and community shop. The nearest beach is 19 miles distant.

Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. WiFi can be intermittent owing to the rural location. Arrival from 16:00; departure before 10:00.
