2 The Square

2 The Square is a 350-year-old thatched-roof cottage in the village of Hope Cove, within the South Devon National Landscape. The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, including one on the ground floor, and one bathroom, and currently has no WiFi, with limited phone signal.

A double bedroom and a twin bedroom both have wardrobe storage, and a wet room with a walk-in shower, basin and heated towel rail serves both. The sitting room has a TV and an electric fire set into a brick fireplace, and the kitchen/diner holds an oven, hob, washer dryer, air fryer, microwave and coffee maker, with nautical touches on the walls throughout.

The dining area seats the household for home-cooked meals, and a dishwasher is provided for easy clean-up. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. Outside, a non-enclosed front garden has a patio with a picnic bench, a spot for meals outdoors or reading in the fresh air.

2 The Square takes one well-behaved pet. There are 6 shared parking bays within the square on a first-come, first-served basis, though parking directly in front of the cottage is not allowed. Smoking is not permitted, and the shop, pub and beach are all around half a mile away. The coastal footpath passes close by, leading towards Bigbury-on-Sea in one direction and Salcombe in the other.
