2 The Shrubbery

This character cottage sits in the heart of Bishops Nympton, within walking distance of the village shop and a children's play area, and sleeps four across two bedrooms. The ground floor opens into a lounge/diner with an inglenook fireplace, slate hearth, bread oven and wood burner, with a Smart TV for evenings in. A doorway leads through to a well-equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.

Upstairs, cottage-style stairs lead to the main bedroom with a king-size bed and a feature fireplace, and a twin bedroom, sharing the single bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Guests should take care on the stairs, as ceiling height is reduced at the bottom of the staircase, and low ceilings feature elsewhere in the cottage.

A back porch offers space for boots and coats before opening onto a small paved courtyard, ideal for al fresco meals in warmer weather. A separate converted building to the rear, reached via three steps, houses a snug with its own wood burner and Smart TV, along with a washing machine and a second WC; a clothes line is available in the courtyard for drying.

Wi-Fi is included throughout, and electric heating costs are covered in the rate. Roadside parking is available around the village, generally within a short walk of the cottage, though this is not guaranteed and depends on availability. Two dogs are welcome by arrangement, with additional charges applying. A travel cot and highchair are provided, and the cottage is decorated for Christmas during the festive season. A motion-activated CCTV camera covers the front of the property only.
