Williams Cottage

Williams Cottage sleeps four guests across two bedrooms in Bucks Mills, a coastal hamlet on the South West Coast Path between Clovelly and Westward Ho!. The beach lies 0.2 miles away, dotted with abandoned lime kilns, rock pools and a distinctive rocky spit. A low wall separates the front lawn from a stream; care is needed with young children.

Inside, the cottage combines a light living room with an alcove window seat overlooking the sea and a wood burner (first basket of logs supplied), alongside a separate dining room with sea views. A glass partition divides the dining area from the kitchen, fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge-freezer. A fairly steep staircase leads to two bedrooms: a king-size room where a nearby waterfall can be heard at night, and a compact double. The family bathroom has a hip bath with over-bath shower and WC.

A stable door from the kitchen opens onto the enclosed garden, which features a patio and BBQ area. One well-behaved dog is welcome; additional dogs may be allowed by arrangement. Dogs must not access furniture or upstairs rooms. Private parking accommodates one car. Arrival is from 16:00; departure before 10:00.

Bideford (9 miles) offers boat trips to Lundy Island. Clovelly's cobbled streets are 5 miles away. Woolsery village, 3 miles inland, contains a pub, shop and fish and chip takeaway. The nearest shop is 1 mile away and the closest pub 3 miles away.
