Marks Cottage

Marks Cottage stands in Bucks Mills, a small fishing village near Bideford on the North Devon coast, with National Trust woodland close by. The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: two double rooms and a bunk room suited to two children, all on the first floor with views over the front garden.

Downstairs, the lounge is arranged around a wood burner (with a first basket of logs included) and a Smart TV, opening through to a kitchen/diner fitted with an oil-fired Redfyre stove, microwave/combination oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The dining table seats eight, useful for gathering the whole party for meals. A split landing on the way to the first floor holds a shower room and a separate bathroom with shower over bath, each with its own WC.

Outside, a lawned area sits at the front of the cottage, while a patio with seating and a charcoal barbecue lies to the rear. A narrow, steep path with steps leads up behind the cottage to a secluded spot with a day bed, continuing further to a children's play tower; care is needed on this uneven section. Parking is roadside, with space for one car directly outside and a public car park around 200 yards up the road on this quiet no-through lane.

Two dogs are welcome, though they must be kept downstairs during the stay, and additional charges may apply. A travel cot and highchair are provided for younger guests, and internet access is available. The nearest shop is around a mile away, and the beach is reached on foot via a steep path from the village.
