Topsail

Topsail is a character cottage set on high ground above Dartmouth, a short walk from the town, with far-reaching views across the River Dart. The cottage is arranged over three floors and sleeps 4 across two bedrooms and one bathroom.

One bedroom sits on the second floor, the other on the floor below, and both look out over the town to the river and the steam railway. The family bathroom on the first floor has a bath with a shower over.

The ground floor holds an open-plan living space with a kitchenette, dining table and a sitting area warmed by a woodburning stove. The kitchenette runs on an electric oven and induction hob, with a dishwasher, kettle, toaster, Bosch Tassimo coffee machine and a Bialetti stovetop percolator, and there's a Smart TV, DVD player and a selection of books and games. From here, doors open onto an enclosed decked balcony with glass balustrades and furniture, and steps lead down to a lower deck garden with a bench, table and chairs.

Topsail allows one dog, ground floor only. One car can park in a private car park about 300 yards away, and roadside space for a second car is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The lane up to the cottage is steep, so it's worth planning for, and children need supervising near the decked balcony and terrace. Smoking isn't permitted.

Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels. Local shops and pubs are a short walk away, and the supermarkets are a three-minute drive. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 11am.
