The Threshing Barn

The Threshing Barn is a Grade II* listed, single-storey barn conversion on a working farm in Highampton, North West Devon. Uneven ground, steps, cobbles and gravel run through the site, and the barn sleeps 2 in a super-king-size bed that can be arranged as a twin on request.

The open-plan living space has vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a woodburning stove, with a kitchen fitted with English Oak units, granite worktops, a butler's sink, an Electrolux double oven with induction hob, and a Bosch dishwasher. The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, double basin and WC, and underfloor heating runs throughout. A separate boot room in a converted cart shed holds the washing machine.

Outside, a private paved patio has table and chairs, sun chairs and a gas barbecue, and the farm's 48 acres look towards Dartmoor and are home to a range of animals, including livestock. There is a lake, a fenced pond and ditches in the grounds, and 10 steps in the garden, so care is needed. Off-road parking is provided for 1 car, with an EV charging point available at extra cost, to be arranged directly with the owners.

No pets are allowed and smoking is not permitted. Only Saturday check-ins are offered at peak times, and the property takes 7-night bookings from May to October, with short breaks available in winter. The shop is 2.6 miles away and the pub 1.2 miles.
