The Stone House

The Stone House is a stone-built country house in the hamlet of Bindon, in open countryside about 0.7 miles from Axmouth and close to Seaton on the East Devon coast. It sleeps 10 across five bedrooms and suits a large gathering of family or friends.

The main house has a stone-floored entrance hall, a sitting room with an open fireplace and French doors onto the garden, a farmhouse breakfast kitchen, a formal dining room and a snug with a TV. A separate annex has its own open-plan kitchenette, sitting room, double bedroom and private bathroom, useful for guests who want a bit of independence. Three further double bedrooms and a twin make up the rest, one with an en-suite bath and walk-in shower, and three bathrooms serve the house in total.

The kitchen has two electric ovens, grills and hobs, a microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and three dishwashers, plus a wine chiller. Four TVs, a Bluetooth stereo and WiFi cover entertainment, and central heating runs alongside a woodburning stove, though logs for the fires aren't included. Standard stairgates won't fit the wide staircase, there are internal steps around the house, and bedroom five has restricted headroom.

Outside, walled gardens open onto a rose garden, a wildflower meadow, lawns bordered by open metal fencing and a patio with furniture for dining outdoors. The Stone House takes one well-behaved dog. Private parking covers 6 cars, the shop is 1.9 miles away and the pub 0.5 miles, and smoking is not permitted.
