The Stables

The Stables is a restored white cottage set in the historic quarter of Braunton, a North Devon village with countryside close by. It sleeps four across two bedrooms and suits families or a small group of friends who want a base for coastal walks and cycling, including the Tarka Trail which runs through the village.

Downstairs, the living space is open plan with sofas, a dining set for four and double-glazed doors opening onto the courtyard. A wood burner sits in the feature fireplace with the first basket of logs provided, and underfloor heating keeps things comfortable outside summer. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and a Nespresso coffee machine. The ground-floor bathroom has a bath with a shower over and a separate WC. Upstairs are the two bedrooms: a super-king (available as twin beds on request via zip-and-link) and a twin room (convertible to super-king).

Outside, the enclosed courtyard is a step down from the living area and includes a BBQ, plus raised decking with a bench, chairs and coffee table for outdoor dining. There's a secure anchor point for bikes or surfboards, a wetsuit hanging rail, and an outside hose and shower for rinsing off after the beach. Private parking is provided for one car, with EV charging on site via the Square Up app, and wifi is available throughout.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possible. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate can be provided on request, useful for those travelling with young children. Braunton's pubs, restaurants and shops are within walking distance, and the market town of Barnstaple offers a wider choice of cinema, theatre and dining a short drive away. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.
