The Shippen At Upper Yeoland

This converted barn near Swimbridge, close to Barnstaple, sleeps four across two bedrooms and offers a quiet rural base in North Devon. Behind the barn's stone exterior lies an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with exposed beams, comfortable sofas and a Smart TV.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer, with a double Belfast sink and dining table for everyday meals. Both bedrooms use zip-and-link beds: one set up as a king (convertible to twins on request) and the other as a twin (convertible to a king on request), giving some flexibility for different groups. One bedroom is on the ground floor, along with the bathroom, which has a freestanding roll-top bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside, a gated and enclosed gravelled courtyard at the rear holds garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue for outdoor dining. An unenclosed lawn area at the front is also available to guests, though dog owners are asked to keep pets on leads because sheep, cattle and horses graze in the neighbouring fields. Up to four dogs can stay, with additional charges applying. Parking for two cars is provided on site with level access from the parking area to the property.

The property runs on a private water supply, and travel cots and highchairs can be arranged on request. Internet access is available throughout. Arrival is from 4pm and departure by 10am. Lower Yeoland Barn, a separate cottage sleeping six, sits around 200 yards away and can be booked alongside this property for larger group gatherings.
