Converted single-storey dairy near Plymtree, room for one dog

The Milk Shed is a single-storey former dairy building, converted into a holiday cottage near Plymtree, Devon, within reach of Payhembury. It sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, a king-size double and a zip-and-link twin that can be arranged as a king-size double on request, sharing one shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC.

Inside is an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting areas, fitted with an oven, hob, microwave, air fryer, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A Smart TV, Wi-Fi and 4G broadband cover downtime, underfloor heating runs throughout, and a utility room sits off the main space.

There is a patio area with garden furniture, though the garden itself is currently unavailable for guest use. Off-road parking is provided for two cars. Steps and uneven ground lead into the property, worth planning for when booking.

One well-behaved dog is welcome at The Milk Shed, kept off the furniture, and with prior permission guests may use the three-quarter-acre paddock for dog walks. The property is no smoking, and there's a welcoming basket of goodies left for arrival. A minimum stay of 3 nights applies, though short stays are welcome. The shop is 1.7 miles away and the pub 1.5 miles.

Plymtree itself has a local pub, a volunteer-run community shop and the historic parish church of St John the Baptist, with an ancient yew tree in the churchyard. Honiton's independent shops and markets, the city of Exeter, and the Jurassic Coast towns of Sidmouth, Beer and Lyme Regis are all within easy driving distance for day trips.
