Central village retreat for two in Beer, Devon

Located at the heart of Beer, this one-bedroom property accommodates two guests and up to two dogs. Three steps lead down from the parking area into an enclosed courtyard before you reach the entrance, so the layout is worth considering for anyone with mobility needs. A private parking space for one car is reached via a narrow lane, and an electric vehicle charging point is available on site.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area sits beneath a vaulted ceiling, giving the space a generous feel. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer and microwave, with a washing machine also included, practical for longer visits or after days on the South West Coast Path. A wood burner in the lounge is supplied with fuel by the owner from November through to the end of March. Both the lounge and the king-size bedroom have Smart TVs.

The enclosed courtyard catches a particularly sunny aspect and is set up with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, making it a ready-made spot for an outdoor meal. Fore Street is within 20 metres on foot, and the beach, a pub and shops are all less than 100 metres away, so a car is rarely needed during a stay.

The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty extends around the village, and the Jurassic Coast is accessible via walking routes directly from Beer. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00.
