The Manor at Wear Farm

Set on an elevated position above the Teign Estuary on the edge of Teignmouth, this four-bedroom manor house sleeps eight and carries genuine period character throughout. Two staircases connect the floors, a formal central stair and a narrower secondary stair at the far end, giving the fourth bedroom its own independent access that suits guests who prefer a little separation. Private parking is available for up to four cars.

The kitchen is equipped with a Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, combi microwave and air fryer, plus a central island that makes cooking for a group straightforward. A dedicated laundry room off the kitchen holds a washing machine and tumble dryer. The formal dining room is anchored by an open fireplace with sofa seating and arched window seats, while the ground-floor sitting room has a log burner, Smart TV and a selection of games and puzzles. A snooker table is also available. One basket of logs is included for the property; additional logs can be bought locally.

Outside, the enclosed walled garden to the rear has a hot tub, a covered veranda and outdoor seating, all with estuary views. Children under five are not permitted in the hot tub for safety reasons. A larger open lawn to the side of the house suits ball games and badminton. Estuary walks start directly from the property, with river access for launching small boats at high tide and paddleboarding.

Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. A travel cot and highchair are available for families with young children. The nearest pub and shop are approximately one mile away. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00.
