The Linhay

The Linhay is a first-floor apartment at the end of a private drive on a Dartmoor smallholding, about a mile and a half from Lydford and its gorge. It has direct access to the moor, with views towards Brentor church and some of Dartmoor's highest tors, and sleeps 2 in one king-size double bedroom, with a bathroom that has a roll-top bath and a separate shower.

Fifteen steps lead up to the entrance, opening through big French windows onto an open-plan living area with a wood burning stove, a sofa and views over the moor and valley. The kitchen and dining area has a microwave, electric oven, induction hob, fridge, washer-dryer and dishwasher, with a TV, Blu-ray and DVD player and WiFi for evenings in.

Outside, the property borders 20 acres of field, woodland and lakes to wander, and there's a small enclosed patio garden with furniture for private use. Off-road parking is provided for two cars, and a cot and highchair are available on request. The Granite Way is nearby for walking or cycling, and Roadford Lake offers watersports a short drive away.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Linhay, and smoking is not permitted. A returnable bond applies. Central heating backs up the wood burning stove, with fuel and power included in the rent.
