The Gimbals

The Gimbals is a single-storey bungalow in Galmpton, a quiet village between Brixham and Paignton on the South Devon coast. It sleeps four across two bedrooms, a double at the front and a twin further along the hall, sharing one bathroom fitted with a bath, shower over the bath, an LED mirror and WC. A second WC in the utility room off the kitchen is handy for guests coming in from outside.

The layout runs front to back along a central hall. The lounge has a gas fireplace and a Smart TV. Beyond it, the kitchen and dining area is equipped with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer, while the utility room houses the washing machine. A conservatory at the rear of the dining area provides an extra seating space and leads directly to the garden.

To the rear, the garden is fully enclosed with a raised deck, a seating area and a lawned section that runs around the side of the bungalow. Two dogs are welcome to use the space. Gravelled off-road parking at the front accommodates two cars, and an on-site Type 2, 7 kW untethered EV charger is available for an additional charge of £50 per stay. A pub and shop are within half a mile and the nearest beach is roughly a mile away.

Brixham harbour, with its seafood restaurants and water-sports hire, is a short drive from the village, and ferry services cross the bay to Paignton and Torquay. A car and passenger ferry also connects to Dartmouth along the coast. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00.
