The Apple Barn at Wyke Farm

Apple Barn is one of the holiday homes at Wyke Farm, a 17th-century farmstead near Axminster with views across the Axe Valley. The open-plan living room has solid oak floors, an open tread staircase and a wood burning stove, with a dining space and country kitchen at the far end, reached through patio doors from the decking.

A ground-floor king-size bedroom has large patio doors and an en-suite shower room. Upstairs are two further en-suite bedrooms: a zip-link twin that can be joined into a super-king, and a double. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher.

Outside, a large decked patio with tables and chairs looks out across the valley, and there is a charcoal barbecue and off-road parking for two cars. A highchair and travel cot are available, and fuel, power and WiFi are included in the rent.

Apple Barn takes two well-behaved dogs, with a small fee charged for the second, and dogs must stay under control at all times because of livestock in the surrounding fields. Smoking is not permitted. Access to the property is via a sloped gravel path with steps to the decking, and the shop and pub are around two miles away.
