Swallow Cottage

Swallow Cottage occupies a renovated 18th-century barn in the hamlet of Bullhornstone, around 2 miles from South Brent on the edge of Dartmoor, one of two cottages on the same working farm. Guests park with ease on the off-road area before stepping through the front door onto tiled flooring that leads into the kitchen/diner, a well-appointed space for self-catering.

The sitting room has a two-seater sofa and an armchair around the TV, DVD player and a selection of books and games, and a separate cloakroom sits downstairs for convenience. A carpeted staircase climbs to the first floor, where the barn's character comes through in a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and Velux windows that bathe the room in natural light.

The king-size bedroom has a window seat set beneath a stained-glass feature, and its en-suite bathroom is fitted with a spacious walk-in shower with a rainfall head, a bath for long soaks and a heated towel rail. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available on request for families travelling with a young child.

Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, and WiFi covers the cottage alongside a DVD player and games. Swallow Cottage does not accept pets, and a traditional pub and a well-stocked shop are both a short drive away. It can also be booked together with the neighbouring Dairy Cottage for a larger group.
