School House

School House is a former Victorian schoolhouse within the boundary of Dartmoor National Park, close to Ivybridge. A bright hallway with space for coats and boots opens onto a dining area, and the kitchen has its own breakfast table. The former school room is now a large games space with air hockey, games books and a futon-style bed, and the house sleeps 6 in total.

The snug sitting room has a wood-burning stove, and on the first floor two bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin, both look over the garden and share a family bathroom with a bath and shower over. A separate cloakroom with basin and WC sits downstairs.

The kitchen has an electric range, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV, a tuned piano and WiFi, though there is no mobile phone signal at the property. Central heating covers the house, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. A travel cot and highchair are available.

Outside is a large garden with shrubs, mature shady trees and parking for 2 cars. Two well-behaved pets are accepted, with a fee charged. Smoking is not permitted, and check-in is from 5pm. The property has a private water supply that is tested regularly. Some interior walls show signs of moisture and staining; the owners check this weekly, and a dehumidifier is provided for guests to use.
