Rose Week Cottage

This cottage stands around 300 years old and is attached to the owner's traditional Devon longhouse in a hamlet on the outskirts of Langtree, near Great Torrington. A stable door opens into an open-plan living space with exposed beams and stonework, a lounge with Smart TV, and a compact kitchen fitted with an electric oven and hob, Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Belfast sink.

A step leads up to the double bedroom, with a shower room just off it containing a shower enclosure, low-level WC with macerator pump and a painted pottery washbasin. A paddle staircase with a latched stairgate at the top climbs to a mezzanine level holding two futon-style chair beds. This area overlooks both the bedroom and lounge below and, due to the step ladder access, is described as suitable for children rather than for additional adult guests.

Outside there is an enclosed patio and lawn area with garden furniture, loungers and a charcoal BBQ, plus a private hot tub with robes provided (guests should bring their own hot tub and beach towels). An outdoor tap and hose are handy for muddy boots and paws, and the owner can arrange secure storage for bikes or surfboards. Off-road parking is available for one car, and internet access is provided; there is no EV charging point on site. Security cameras cover the parking area and front door pathway.

Two dogs are welcome at an additional charge, and a travel cot and highchair can be requested ahead of arrival. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00. The shower room serves the property rather than a separate bathroom, and with one double bedroom the cottage suits couples, with the mezzanine chair beds offering a further option for a family with children.
