Morningside Elderberry Cottage

Morningside Elderberry Cottage is a detached holiday cottage sleeping four, set within a small complex of country cottages near Langtree, close to Torrington in North Devon. Two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one with twins, share a generous bathroom fitted with a free-standing bath and separate shower. Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply, and parking is provided for one car on site with further spaces available on request.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the cottage. A corner sofa faces the wood burner, the only one among the cottages on the complex, with logs available on request. A TV with DVD player sits alongside. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, Nespresso machine with milk frother, a bread maker with complimentary mix, and a washer-dryer. The dining table provides a comfortable spot for meals in.

Outside, a private enclosed garden with lawn, patio and outdoor seating is for the use of cottage guests, with a charcoal BBQ available on request. A shared lawn adjoins it. Across the wider eight-acre estate, all guests can use indoor and outdoor play areas, a gnome garden, fairy walk, woodland paths and a gentle stream. Animal enclosures house alpacas, a miniature donkey, pygmy goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and a goose, and the owners lead a morning session each day covering feeding, egg collecting and a tractor ride.

A highchair and travel cot are both available on request, which suits families with young children particularly well. A village shop and pub are around two miles from the cottage. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00.
