Thatched Jacobstowe cottage with a hot tub and enclosed garden

Rose Cottage is a Grade 2 listed thatch built in the 17th century in the village of Jacobstowe, close to Okehampton. The cottage sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, sharing a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Downstairs holds a sitting room with an open fire, a snug with a woodburning stove, and a kitchen/diner fitted with an electric oven, steam oven, induction hob, microwave, a fridge with an ice box, a washing machine and a dishwasher, where guests can gather for home-cooked meals. A conservatory adds further space to sit, and oil central heating covers the whole cottage, with fuel and power included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels.

The rear garden is enclosed, with a lawn, a gravelled area, decking, furniture, a summer house, a pond and a hot tub for an evening soak. The pond itself is unfenced, so children and pets need supervising nearby. Private driveway parking is provided for 2 cars, and a TV and WiFi cover quieter evenings in.

Rose Cottage takes two well-behaved dogs. Smoking is not permitted inside, and the nearest shop is 1.8 miles away with a pub around a mile. Okehampton itself, with its medieval castle, museum and access to Dartmoor's open moorland, sits within easy reach for a day out, and the restored Dartmoor Line runs an hourly train service to Exeter.
