Rock 'n' Reel

This two-bedroom cottage sits in central Dartmouth, close to the River Dart. It sleeps 4 across two double bedrooms, with a shower room fitted with a walk-in shower, a heated towel rail and a WC.

The open-plan living space has a woodburning stove next to an L-shaped sofa and a Smart TV, and the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge and a washer/dryer tucked under the stairs. An iron and ironing board are provided too, and the dining table seats four for meals in.

A private patio on the first floor has furniture for sitting out known as a sun trap on warmer days. The stairs in the cottage are steep, so take care on them.

The South West Coast Path passes close to the cottage, part of a 630-mile route ending in Dorset, and Blackpool Sands, a Blue Flag beach, offers bathing, rafting and kayaking. In town, the Seahorse serves fresh seafood with views over the river, and Dartmouth Castle has its own on-site tearoom.

One well-behaved dog is accepted, though not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. A permit for the Dartmouth Park and Ride, at the top of town and a five-minute drive from the cottage, is provided, and the shop and pub are 0.1 miles away. The cottage is strictly no smoking.
