Plym Cottage

Plym Cottage is a three-bedroom barn conversion sleeping six in Broadhempston, a rural village with a pub and shop within 0.8 miles. Part of a small complex of four holiday cottages set around the owners' farmhouse, it sits within four shared acres of orchard, lawn and garden. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 09:30, so it suits those who want a proper check-in rather than a rushed handover.

The cottage is reverse-level, with three steps up to the main entrance leading into an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining area on the upper floor. Exposed beams and an apex ceiling are original to the barn, and the wood burner comes with a first basket of logs. Cooking is on an electric oven with a four-ring hob, and a dishwasher is included. The kitchen is also equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, with a six-seater dining table for group meals.

Downstairs, the double bedroom has French doors onto the shared terrace, as does the king-size room whose zip-and-link beds can be reconfigured as a twin on request. The twin bedroom is also on the ground floor, and the two bathrooms are an en-suite shower room with WC and a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in a shared laundry facility. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided, though mobile signal is limited and is best in the shared car park.

Outdoor space includes the cottage's own courtyard with a charcoal BBQ and furniture. The wider complex features a shared furnished veranda with a sunken hot tub and a shared indoor heated swimming pool; both operate on a rota with daily exclusive time slots per cottage. Children must be supervised around the pool and hot tub at all times. Parking is in a shared car park with eight spaces in total, and there is secure bike storage. Two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply.
