Monks Treasure

This converted barn near Pyworthy, close to Holsworthy in North Devon, sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms. The property follows an upside-down layout, with the main living space upstairs and all bedrooms on the ground floor, making it a distinctive choice for groups wanting sociable communal areas above and quiet sleeping quarters below.

Upstairs, a beamed lounge/diner with exposed brickwork gives way to a snug on a mezzanine level, stocked with books and games. A separate kitchen/diner has its own dining table alongside an oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher. Downstairs, three double bedrooms and one twin room are arranged with two doubles and the twin having their own outside access; the twin also has an en-suite shower room with WC. A further bathroom serves the rest of the property with a bath, separate shower and WC.

A private games room adds further space to spread out, fitted with a snooker table, smart TV and a selection of toys, useful for families or larger groups on wet days. Outside, a rear garden houses a private hot tub, and guests can also make use of the owner's working farm, where younger visitors may enjoy tractor rides and meeting the resident animals.

Parking is ample and on-site, though EV charging is not permitted. Wifi is available but can be intermittent given the rural setting, and towels are not included. A secured internal door connecting to an adjacent property is permanently locked and cannot be opened. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying, and a cot and highchair are provided for younger guests. Check-in runs from 14:30, with departure required by 10:00.
