Victorian harbour cottage for four in Ilfracombe

Mizpah is a former 1700s fisherman's cottage set directly on the Victorian harbour in Ilfracombe, sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms. Both bedrooms are on the top floor: a king-size room with views across to the harbour, and a twin room with two 2.6ft beds. One bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC is on the first floor, below the bedrooms.

The cottage spans three floors, with narrow stairs and low beams, and two sets of stairs across the building. The layout makes it unsuitable for elderly or infirm guests. On the ground floor, the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer, with comfortable seating that makes it a sociable space. The first-floor sitting room has a Smart TV with Apple TV and views towards the harbour.

Because the cottage is built into the cliffs, there is no rear garden; a small patio area at the front provides outdoor seating with a table and chairs. Parking is not guaranteed: street parking is subject to availability, and the nearest public car park, Ropery Car Park, is a short walk away. Up to two dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00.

Pubs, shops and the beach are roughly 100 metres away, and the working harbour puts fresh fish and boat trips within easy reach. The South West Coast Path starts practically at the door for those wanting coastal walks.
