Meavy Cottage

Meavy Cottage sits in the village of Cornworthy, part of the nine-property Gitcombe Estate, with views over the estate's grounds and surrounding hills. The stone-built cottage sleeps 4 across two ground-floor bedrooms and one shower room, and can be booked alongside other Gitcombe Estate cottages for a larger group.

A double and a twin bedroom sit on the ground floor alongside an open-plan kitchen and living area, a mezzanine snug with a sofa bed, and a walled patio for eating outside. Underfloor heating runs off oil central heating, and the sitting room has a wood burning stove, with wood and a starter pack included in the rent. The bedrooms are decorated in a neutral style and served by a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a TV and WiFi. Ample off-road parking is provided, and guests get shared use of the estate's heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms, plus an outdoor heated pool, hot tub, a championship-size tennis court and table football, all shared with other Gitcombe Estate guests across the 14-acre grounds.

No pets and no smoking are permitted at the cottage. The shop is 3.3 miles away and the pub 1.6 miles, though the estate's own grounds have footpaths into the surrounding countryside, so there's plenty to explore without leaving the site.
