Lower Velwell Barn

Lower Velwell Barn is a converted barn on a small private estate between Totnes and Buckfastleigh, a short drive from Dartington. French doors open the dining room onto the estate's meadows, and a woodburning stove adds warmth for evening meals around the table. Four en-suite bedrooms sleep 8, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor, each carpeted and finished with plenty of wardrobe space.

A vaulted sitting room with exposed oak beams shares a double-sided woodburning stove with the adjoining snug, where a Smart TV and a mezzanine level offer a quieter spot to sit with a book. The kitchen has an oil-fired AGA, two dishwashers, a summer oven, an induction hob and a breakfast nook with bench seating, opening through French doors onto the patio.

A separate hallway leads to a utility area with underfloor heating, giving space for coats, boots and laundry after countryside walks. A large garden and landscaped lawns surround the property, with the patio catching the early morning light and offering views across the surrounding meadows.

A highchair and travel cot are available on request, and WiFi is included. Off-road parking is provided for two cars, with additional space near the thatched barn. The shop is 2 miles away, the pub 2.2 miles, and a river 0.8 miles. Dogs are welcome (confirm how many when booking), and smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
