Love Barn

This converted barn stands on a smallholding at Dartington, near Totnes, where the owners also live, giving guests a good degree of privacy on the grounds. Access is via a walkway leading to the ground-floor entrance, opening into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and wooden flooring. A wood burner sits at the lounge end, with a Smart TV and soft seating nearby, while the kitchen end has wooden units, an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, plus a round farmhouse table for family meals.

A glass-balustrade staircase leads down to the lower ground floor, where exposed stonework continues through to the bedrooms and family bathroom. Two king-size bedrooms are on this level, one opening onto the garden and the other with an additional day bed for flexible sleeping. A bunk bedroom, reached through one of the king-size rooms, suits younger members of the party. The family bathroom has a bath and a walk-in shower, and there is a separate WC off the kitchen.

Outside, an outdoor seating area at the front of the barn offers a spot to sit on fine days, and private parking is provided for two cars, with chargeable electric vehicle charging also available on site. A washing machine is included for longer stays, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided, though guests should bring their own bed linen for the cot. Internet access is available throughout the property.

The barn sleeps up to six guests across its three bedrooms, making it suited to a family group or two families travelling together. A shop and pub are around a mile away, and the beach is roughly nine miles from the property. Guests should note that a partly fenced pond sits within the owner's grounds, so children should be supervised carefully. Dogs are not permitted at this property.
