Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is a mid-terrace cottage in the village of South Zeal, on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park, with South Tawton nearby. The cottage sleeps 5 across three bedrooms and one bathroom, and its front bench looks out over the village itself.

Downstairs, the sitting room holds a large inglenook fireplace with a woodburning stove, two sofas and a TV, and a door conceals the staircase up to the first floor. The kitchen/diner sits beneath exposed timber beams, with a long dining table and bench seating for meals in.

Upstairs, three bedrooms sit beneath sloping ceilings: a king-size, a single with a truckle bed that can be made into a twin on request, and a further single, served by the family bathroom. Restricted head height in the bathroom and the sloping bedroom ceilings are worth planning around. Night storage heating and the woodburning stove keep the cottage warm, and the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and WiFi.

Outside, an enclosed garden offers a lawned area, terrace, bench and dining furniture. Roadside parking is available, with a free public car park around 100m away. No pets are permitted and the cottage is no smoking throughout. The nearest shop is 0.8 miles away and the nearest pub just 0.1 miles.
