Heron Cottage

Heron Cottage is one of the Widmouth Farm Cottages, a cluster of converted farm buildings on the coast between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. The cottage sleeps four across a king-size and a twin bedroom that share a bathroom with a walk-in shower, and the ground floor holds a sitting room with dining area next to the kitchen. Check-in here is from 4pm.

A shared courtyard with furniture sits outside, and the farm's private beach is around 500 yards away, along with a shared picnic area, dog exercise field and playground used by the other cottages on site. A designated parking space is provided for the cottage, and the farm sits in a fairly secluded spot, so the owners note that WiFi streaming can be intermittent even though the connection is fine for browsing, emails and messages.

The kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV with WiFi indoors. Laundry runs through a shared utility room with coin-operated washing machines and a tumble dryer, plus a second fridge, freezer and iron for guests to use. A travel cot, stairgate and highchair are available on request.

Heron Cottage welcomes up to three well-behaved dogs. The owner asks for a minimum stay of three nights, and changeovers here run on Mondays and Fridays only, so it suits guests who can plan around a midweek start. Smoking isn't permitted, and the nearest shop and pub are about 1.5 miles away.
