Fishermen's Cottage

Fishermen's Cottage is a stone and cob barn conversion in the village of Chawleigh, about 1.4 miles from Chulmleigh in mid Devon. The semi-detached property sits on 10 acres of grounds, including half a mile along the River Taw kept for fly fishing only, and sleeps 8 across three bedrooms.

Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms has a super-king-size bed; two share the style of an en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, while the third has a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and its own TV. Downstairs, the open-plan living space holds a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area with a handmade wooden table seating eight, and a sitting room with a Smart TV and a woodburning stove. A ground-floor shower room and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer complete the layout.

The rear garden, where a mix of patio, lawn and gravel areas gives several spots to sit out, has a private hot tub with its own changing area, plus a chimenea and barbecue for cooler evenings. Off-road parking is provided for 3 cars, and a cot and highchair are available on request. Fishermen's Cottage can be booked together with the neighbouring Copper Lodge, sleeping up to 14 guests between the two.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome, though they're not allowed on the furniture or upstairs. Smoking is not permitted. The nearest pub is a mile away and the nearest shop 1.3 miles; check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.
