This first-floor apartment occupies part of a large country house near South Allington, close to Kingsbridge in South Devon. Slate and wooden floors run through the open-plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, giving the space a settled, lived-in character rather than a uniform holiday-let finish.

The apartment sleeps a maximum of three, including an infant, across two bedrooms: a double with a four-poster bed and a single room. The one bathroom has a shower over bath along with a WC. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster, and the lounge has a TV with a fire stick attached.

Outside, guests share a walled garden that is enclosed and reached through a gate across a quiet, narrow road, so it is not a private space attached directly to the apartment. A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is also shared with other guests staying at the property. Internet access is available, and parking is ample and off-road.

Families travelling with young children will find a travel cot and highchair provided. Two dogs are permitted, though additional charges may apply, so anyone bringing pets should check this before booking. The beach is roughly a mile away, with the nearest pub and shop around two miles from the apartment, useful to know given the rural setting.
