Country Life Fuggles Cottage

This single-level cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms and sits within a complex of nine holiday cottages near Westward Ho, close to Bideford. The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the home, with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge for self-catering, plus a TV and DVD player in the lounge.

The three bedrooms comprise a double, a twin and a bunk room, all sharing a single bathroom fitted with a shower over the bath and a WC. A highchair and travel cot are available on request, making this a practical option for families with young children.

Outside, guests have use of a private enclosed garden directly outside the cottage, though it is not secure against dogs escaping. A shared BBQ area with picnic tables serves the wider complex, alongside a communal children's play area with swings, slides and football goals. The outdoor 40ft swimming pool is shared with the other cottages on site and is heated only through the main summer months, from the last May Bank Holiday week until 1 September; dogs are not permitted in the pool area. A fully enclosed dog exercise field lies less than 100 yards away, and up to two dogs are welcome to stay, kept on a lead while on site, with additional charges applying.

Practical arrangements include an allocated car parking space, secure storage for bikes and surfboards, and a shared utility room with coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Wi-Fi, electricity and heating are included, along with bed linen and towels. A pub and restaurant sit next door, with shops and the beach within walking distance. Arrival is from 2pm and departure before 9am.
