Bosuns Locker

Set in Instow on the North Devon coast, this timber chalet sleeps two and sits just 25 metres from the beach, with estuary and countryside views through the windows. The open-plan living space sits beneath a vaulted ceiling, with underfloor heating throughout and a wood burner in the lounge area; the first basket of logs is supplied during winter months. A sofa and two armchairs face the Smart TV, and a dining table fits neatly within the all-white kitchen, which comes equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

The one double bedroom is off the hallway and has generous storage space along with an en-suite shower room. A separate bathroom provides a bath and WC. One well-behaved dog is welcome, though the dog must not be left unattended in the chalet at any time. Children are not accepted at this property.

A single parking space is available to the right-hand side before the chalets; guests are asked not to park directly outside the chalet itself. Outside, a table and chairs make the most of the estuary setting for al fresco meals or drinks. A pub is under 500 metres away and a shop just over half a mile.

The sheltered estuary water is popular for canoeing, kayaking and kite surfing, and a walk-on ferry runs to Appledore in summer months. The long-distance Tarka Trail for walkers and cyclists passes through the village, giving scope for longer days out across North Devon.
