Betty's Cottage

Betty's Cottage sits in Bishops Tawton, a village near Barnstaple in North Devon, and offers straightforward, well-equipped accommodation for up to six guests. A traditional hallway with a mosaic tiled floor leads into a lounge with an open fire and a large bay window overlooking the front garden, and through to a dining room with space for five to eat together.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a Tassimo coffee machine, with a separate WC just off it. A sun porch beyond the kitchen provides storage for boots and coats, useful after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. Upstairs, a split-level landing gives access to the three bedrooms, comprising two doubles and a twin, along with the shower room, which is also on this floor.

Outside, a pathway at the front leads across to an enclosed garden lawn with a patio area, bordered by established trees and shrubs, and a charcoal barbecue is provided for outdoor meals. One allocated parking space is available at the rear of the property, with additional roadside parking subject to availability. A first basket of logs is included for the open fire.

This is a family-friendly cottage, with a travel cot and highchair provided, though dogs are not permitted. Internet access is available on site. The village itself has a pub within easy walking distance, and Barnstaple is a short drive away for a wider choice of shops and restaurants.
