Bashers Rest

This modern, two-storey retreat stands in the centre of Bishops Tawton, next door to the owners' home, and sleeps four across two bedrooms. The layout is upside-down, with open-plan living space upstairs making the most of views over the Taw Valley.

Upstairs, the lounge, kitchen and dining area sit together beneath a skylight, with a wood burner in the lounge and a Smart TV for evenings in. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave, plus a breakfast bar for everyday meals. French doors lead out to a balcony furnished with seating, and a second balcony elsewhere on the property also makes use of the surrounding views.

Both bedrooms are on the ground floor: a king-size room and a twin room, each with its own en-suite shower room and WC. The twin can be pushed together to form a super-king bed if requested at the time of booking, and a Smart TV is provided in each bedroom.

Outside, an enclosed rear area is divided into several small seating spots with a bistro table and chairs, alongside a fenced astro turf section for dogs and children to use safely. A gas barbecue is provided for outdoor cooking. Two dogs are permitted, with additional charges possibly applying, and off-road parking is available for one car only, with further on-street parking subject to availability. A pub is around 800 metres away, and the nearest train station is in Barnstaple. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger guests.
